The Hawaiʻi Little Britches Rodeo Association (HLBRA) is a proud affiliate of the National Little Britches Rodeo Association, providing young riders in Hawaii with the opportunity to develop their rodeo skills and compete in a supportive, family-oriented environment. Designed for youth ages 5 to 18, HLBRA hosts 12 rodeos per season, offering keiki (children), teens, and emerging adults a chance to test their abilities in a range of traditional rodeo disciplines. Rodeos are open to contestants island-wide.
HLBRA's events feature exciting competitions such as barrel racing, pole bending, roping, goat tying, and more, all tailored to different age divisions to ensure fairness and safety. Whether participants are beginners or experienced riders, HLBRA welcomes all young athletes with a passion for rodeo and offers them a platform to grow both in skill and character.
Beyond the rodeo arena, HLBRA is committed to fostering life skills that extend far beyond the sport. We emphasize values such as responsibility, sportsmanship, perseverance, and respect for animals and the land. By engaging in HLBRA events, youth not only hone their athletic talents but also build lifelong friendships and a deeper connection to Hawaii’s paniolo heritage.
At HLBRA, family involvement is key to every event, and we encourage parents and siblings to participate as volunteers and cheerleaders, creating a strong sense of ‘ohana (family) and community. Our goal is to nurture the next generation of Hawaii’s paniolo while ensuring that each young rider feels supported, encouraged, and celebrated.
For more information about HLBRA events, membership, and how to get involved, please visit our Events Calendar or use the chat/contact us feature in this site. Come be a part of the Hawaii Little Britches Rodeo family and watch your keiki grow in skill, confidence, and aloha!

Contestants need to pay for their $80 membership fee and HLBRA rodeo entry fees throughout the season. With the rising costs of rodeo in Hawaii, HYRO decided to waive the annual membership fee for 2024-2025, however, contestants are still responsible for their NLBRA membership fee and HLBRA rodeo entries.
Is there a particular child you would like to sponsor? Your donation to HYRO will be designated toward a contestant in need of financial support. Your payment will automatically generate a receipt from the Hawaii Youth Rodeo Ohana, a registered 501c3 non profit organization, as confirmation of your donation.
